Darkness.....What meaning first comes in your mind?

"Darkness" is a word which emphasizes on the negative side. Whenever we hear this word...something starts churning up in our mind about fear, failure & many more of such kind. There is an 'image' of this word in human mind. Today suddenly this came in my mind, as recently i finished a novel "Are you afraid of the dark?" by Sidney Sheldon. There was a character "Kelly", who was afraid of the darkness due to some pathetic incident which had happened to her years ago....those 15-20 minutes had almost broken her soul.
Its very unfortunate if a few "dark" moments affect us in such a dreadful manner. What made me writing this post is a question...Are those few moments more powerful than our whole life time, so that they can even rule over our life?

I am blank about it...!!

well a nice and thoughtful post......you hav popped up a nice question, but the real answer to this question lies in our mindset and how far are we allowing the trauma that happened to us to reign over ourlife.....nothing,literally nothing in this life is so painful which cannot be healed by the passage of time.

darkness is nothing but absence of light........and its upto us to light up our lives bu living ever moment that cribbing over unfortunate past

Darkness for me can be anything, positive or negative. Its on you. People may enjoy the darkness. Darkness at some point of time gives you time to think you never thought of. Fuzzy ideas becomes clear. Instead of discontinuous flow of ideas you may have continuous flow.

Safal is right, darkness is absence of light. But if life has to exist on earth, sunset is as important as sunrise.Dreams give you rest.
